The exhibition Ghosts and Appearances features these figures who still fascinate the artists of our time after haunting the imaginations of previous generations.
The romantic movement in the 19th century had focused its attention on the traditions and popular beliefs that feed these hauntings. Nowadays, many artists are still passionate about this mental space populated by strange beings, the quest for the irrational and the survival of hallucinatory images.
In the 8 large rooms of the castle: 35 works by contemporary artists interact with the works of art in the permanent collection. All of them offer visitors a world full of emotions that testifies to the importance of the irrational in the age of new technologies.

Châsse chasse sucrée is a reliquary, its sparkling white forest is in fact a molded sugar deer andouiller ossuary.
