The rustle of solids

Karine Bonneval and Chloé Silbano present a series of paintings and sculptures that revolve around ways of being on earth; territories, uses, tools. This dialogue between their practices began last year with the exhibition Dé-jardiner, at Gr_und, in Berlin.
It is a question here of forms that encapsulate a possible projection, as with a seed contained in a leaf, the point of departure and the point of arrival are the same and unique form.
It is a container, a content, and a trajectory, a sound, a force.
There is listening to the soil and to the gesture when it adopts the shape of a ceramic pavilion.
A headdress object questions the boundary between the artefact and the living, a possibility of new ritual.
The industrial vegetable raw materials are arching into stems to become vegetal again.
At first glance, these structures appear to be naturally architectural, but here the artists mimic them, reproduce them to twist and extend them by a gesture.
With "Stone", it is the balancing of a volume and a hollow, between a stone and the open jaw to wedge it. A game of formal correspondence that reminds us that stone and skeletal bone are not so far apart.
Balance is also sought in " Plombé " where pendulums underline the weightlessness, a phenomenal force of nature, and at the same time given so integrated that it becomes invisible.
These are therefore mental mechanics that question our relationship to the world.
The environment would no longer be right next to the human, but a weaving with our former meadow.
