The cards are like abstract landscapes, using close-up images of the bark of remarkable trees encountered in Berlin for the Dendromité-Berlin project (2015). Taking photographs as a starting point, the scratched texture of the circular shapes, out of scale, and the contrasts of black and white distance themselves from this source. The sense of reading is no longer self-evident, becoming a motif, approaching abstraction. Couldn't these engraved details be mountainous, marine, crystalline or floral “landscapes”?
