What is the link between us and the plant? What does it say about us? What traces do they leave in our imagination?
This exhibition unfolds like a root system. The works will bring out the various symbols, elements, personalities and territories that are linked to them.

The sculptures in rapeseed wax, which is the product of industrial plant production, were created during a residency at the Botanical Museum in Berlin. Karine Bonneval was interested in the history of the plants Victorias Amazonica, the attraction they provoke and their difficult acclimatisation in our latitudes. She has represented, interpreted to scale, dry elements of this species, by observing it and by being inspired by botanical models, sculptural pieces representing large parts of plants used to study their physiology.
Her photography captures our attraction to this plant, which she has painted with fluorescent paint before shooting. Her work reveals our European behaviour, the attraction to the exotic, taxonomy, possession and the history of adapting these plants to be cultivated in botanical gardens.
